I wrote up this little UI for quickly setting paint wieght values. I really hate Maya’s current UI. It’s too big and I needed a way to set values quickly. If there is a need for a Mac version then let me know and I can make some tweaks. This is only for Windows since I use color for the controls. This is pretty bare bones and very simplified but does the job. There are popMenus for Brush Profiles under the operations label and toggling clamps under the clamp label. Hope it helps out a few. Let me know what you think.

    nice and small stuff. Thanx for this but it cud have been more compact if u had placed the entire joint list in a popup menu or something.
    One more thing I still can’t get my hands off from default maya weight tool (even after using dwskin tool) bcoz the “right click paint” option that it offers. I think there sud be a option in dragMenuProc or somewhere else from which we can actually direct the right click menu to custom skinning windows instead of the default maya one.

    Well if the joint list was in a popup menu then you can only select one joint at a time. The list that I have allows for multiple selections so that you can toggle hold weights.

    You can override the dagMenuProc by copying into your scripts folder and then changing the default behavior to suit your needs.

    I agree, there needs to be some improvement to the default toolset. Thanks for your suggestions.
