Been awhile since I’ve posted anything. So I added a new script to the melscripts section.

Nudge is a useful script for fine tuning your skinning.

Usage:
Select one or more vertices to populate influence list.
Set amount you want to nudge.
Select which influence you want the vertice to nudge to.
Popup menu in influence list with 2 options to remove or fully weight to this joint.

    Hello, is it like component editor only that you can do add and subtract?

    Yea, I guess so. It’s similar to having components selected and selecting “add” in the paint tool window, setting your opacity to a value and flooding it. This just saves a few steps and speeds up your workflow. Next version will have an interactive slider. Hope it helps ya :)!

    Thank you so much Sean!!! With David Walden’s “Skinning Tools” and your scripts, skinning becomes even FUN! The nudge script works beautifully. How is the interactive slider upgrade coming along? ;D

    Thanks! Glad you like it. I’ll have the slider added soon. Plus I have a version now that will allow you to rotate more than one joint while in paint mode that works a bit better than Dave’s. I’ll post a quick video demo to show off the new features.

    Great, I can’t wait!!! You are right, “Skinning Tools” even at version 2 is a little broken and if you want to undo after you changed your rotations… good luck! That and the Component Editor not working from previous versions as well yet is a must have script.

    Have you tried dRaster NEX for Maya? In the upcoming version the developers will bring new animation and rigging tools!
